MEET THE COACHES

Breakers Head Coach
Katie McFarlane
My name is Katie McFarlane and I am the Head Coach at Breakers Swimming Club. I was a competitive swimmer for over 13 years and have raced at a National level with my best achievement, racing at the 2021 Olympic trials. The love I have for the sport inspired me to become a swimming coach and I have been coaching since 2017.
I am a Development qualified coach and I am currently undertaking my Advance qualification. I have also completed a Diploma in Sports Development. My energy and personality comes out in my coaching through creative and engaging sessions. My passion is to help other swimmers to achieve their potential and goals both in and out of the water.

Breakers Squad Coach
Tristan Pramono
My name is Tristan Pramono, and I am currently the primary coach for Gold Squad at Breakers Swimming Club. I am originally from Indonesia, where I was employed as a swimming instructor and coach. I have completed a Bachelor Degree in Sports and Exercise Science at the University of WA and I have experience working alongside age-group to national and international level athletes.
I am skilled in technique correction and athlete development. My coaching style is centred around building strong relationships with swimmers, creating engaging training sessions, and helping athletes develop confidence and resilience both in and out of the water. My passion, knowledge, and experience help me to assist other swimmers to unlock their potential and achieve their goals while also making their swimming journey enjoyable.

Breakers Squad Coach
Helena Toms
My name is Helena Toms and I am a coach at Breakers Swim Club. I am currently the primary coach of Platinum Squad. I have spent many years at the club beginning my journey as a swimmer in 2018 and working up to competing at State and National championships numerous times.
As a long member of the club and former member of the captain team, I am highly passionate about swimming and eager to share my knowledge and experience. My positive attitude and ability to motivate others is something I proudly bring to all my training sessions. On race day I'm there to encourage and challenge swimmers towards developing and achieving their potential, and making their swimming journey as exciting and enjoyable as possible.​
